A Proofpoint Senior Engineer typically focuses on the deployment, configuration, and support of Proofpoint's cybersecurity solutions, particularly in areas like email security, data loss prevention, and cloud security. This role involves troubleshooting, analyzing security issues, and collaborating with clients to implement and optimize security policies.
How you’ll make an impact

Configure, maintain, and optimize Proofpoint email gateway to protect against phishing, spam, malware, and other email-based threats.

Monitor email traffic and analyze trends to identify potential security risks.

Develop and implement policies and rules to enhance email security and compliance.
-
Implement and manage DNS authentication protocols such as SPF, DKIM, and DMARC using tools like Proofpoint EFD and Valimail to secure email communications.

Regularly audit and update DNS records to ensure compliance and prevent email spoofing.

Collaborate with IT and domain administrators to configure and verify DNS settings.
-
Monitor and analyze email DLP incidents and take appropriate action to mitigate risks.

Work with stakeholders to ensure DLP policies align with business needs and regulatory requirements.

Assist clients in understanding and implementing email security best practices.

Provide training and guidance to clients on the use of email security tools and protocols.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to email delivery, filtering, and security.
What we’re looking for

Strong understanding of email security protocols, security technologies, and networking concepts.

Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.

Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and other stakeholders.

Ability to analyze security data and identify potential threats.

5+years of experience with Proofpoint products, email security solutions, and/or related cybersecurity technologies.

Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH) can be beneficial.

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity.
