Role Overview
As an Engineer 2, you will work closely with JCPenney IT teams and business customers, contributing to the development of scalable, maintainable, and high-performing solutions. This role involves designing, developing, and testing Java-based applications, working on cloud platforms (AWS), and enhancing microservices architecture.

Key Responsibilities
✔ Software Development & Design
- Work with business analysts to design and develop scalable software solutions.
- Create and test Java-based applications that meet business and technical requirements.
- Develop and enhance RESTful APIs and microservices.
✔ Technical Collaboration
- Communicate technical capabilities with business customers and IT teams.
- Troubleshoot pre- and post-production issues.
- Stay updated with the latest technology trends and techniques.
✔ Performance & Optimization
- Use Java application profiling tools to enhance application performance.
- Work on process improvements to optimize system performance.
✔ Agile & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Participate in Agile/Scrum teams, ensuring timely delivery of solutions.
- Work directly with business stakeholders to understand and fulfill requirements.
Required Skills & Experience
???? Technical Expertise
✔ 5+ years of Java development experience (OO design, programming, debugging).
✔ 2+ years working with Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and Microservices.
✔ 2+ years of database experience (RDBMS & NoSQL, preferably Cassandra).
✔ 2+ years of cloud experience (preferably AWS).
✔ Experience in RESTful API development and integration.
✔ Proficiency in Java application profiling tools.
✔ Exposure to front-end technologies (React) is a plus.
???? Soft Skills
✔ Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
✔ Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking.
✔ Ability to work in cross-functional Agile teams.
???? Preferred Experience
✔ Experience in the retail domain is a plus.
