The selected candidate will play a key leadership role in our 15-step product development lifecycle, ensuring seamless execution from product planning to deployment and review. This is a strategic and hands-on position, requiring collaboration with multiple teams to drive product-driven innovation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and support the Engineering team, including Development, DevOps, and QA functions.
- Mentor and guide a team of 10-15 engineers, ensuring high performance and consistency.
- Drive team growth through internal development opportunities and external hiring.
- Conduct and facilitate weekly LVL10 departmental meetings to align engineering goals.
2. Product Development & Execution
- Oversee the development and deployment of key product features for Requestor & Healthcare Provider communities.
- Collaborate with Product, UX, and cross-functional teams to design optimal solutions for end-users.
- Actively engage in coding and architecture discussions, providing technical leadership.
- Ensure adherence to test-driven development (TDD) principles and engineering best practices.
3. Strategic & Technical Roadmap
- Develop and execute a comprehensive technical roadmap in alignment with business needs.
- Design and implement scalable, distributed, and highly available systems on AWS.
- Lead API development and system integrations.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and implement innovative solutions.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with senior leadership, including executive-level stakeholders, to align engineering initiatives with business objectives.
- Maintain clear and concise technical communication with both technical and non-technical teams.
- Advocate for engineering process improvements and drive technical excellence.
Required Skills & Qualifications
???? Education & Experience:
- 7 to 10 years of experience in designing, developing, and managing large-scale public-facing web applications within AWS.
- Minimum 3 years of experience leading an engineering team of 10-15 members.
- Proven track record in mentoring engineers and influencing engineering strategies.
???? Technical Skills:
- Full-stack development expertise (frontend & backend) with database management experience.
- Strong commitment to test-driven development (TDD).
- Proficiency in:
- AWS & Serverless platforms
- Ruby on Rails (or similar MVC frameworks)
- SQL databases
- JavaScript (React/Redux)
- Git version control
- Familiarity with distributed systems architecture & API development.
???? Soft Skills & Leadership:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.
- Ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience managing a remote, globally distributed workforce.
- Availability for occasional light travel (5-10%).
