We are currently seeking a Software Development Engineer - Test to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for test automation, framework implementation, feature testing, workflow validation, and ensuring high software quality standards.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The perfect fit for this role will have:
- Expertise in automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Appium, and Puppeteer.
- A passion for quality engineering, test automation, and efficiency improvements.
- An automation-first mindset.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrations.
- Strong API testing skills.
- Critical thinking abilities and a pragmatic approach to integration and end-to-end testing.
- Experience as a quality owner for a product or critical SaaS platform component.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills to report issues and discuss test scenarios.
- A collaborative approach to working across teams and achieving goals.
- The ability to identify consistent approaches to solving common problems.
- A balanced perspective on technology, considering trade-offs rather than rigid philosophies.
- A keen sense of risk management and effective prioritization.
- Sound judgment in communicating issues with the appropriate level of urgency.
Responsibilities
- Develop automated test scripts to improve testing speed and software delivery.
- Identify and implement opportunities to enhance team and framework capabilities.
- Work closely with development and product teams to define system enhancements and new feature requirements.
- Analyze end-user requirements to create and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Execute manual and automated test cases, debug, identify errors, document issues, and follow up for resolution.
- Identify, replicate, and report defects, verifying fixes as needed.
- Participate in Agile development processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Act as the end-user representative to ensure requirements are met.
- Suggest improvements for quality control processes and the software development lifecycle.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in testing, building, or supporting web applications.
- Experience in API testing and client application testing.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems like Jira, Trello, etc.
- Experience with test case management software.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage in constructive discussions.
- Ability to interview and hire candidates as needed.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to inspire teams, foster a positive work culture, and develop talent.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Familiarity with automated browser testing using end-to-end testing frameworks.
- Experience with API testing frameworks like Postman and RestAssured.
- Experience in testing/supporting web applications, databases, mobile applications, and complex systems.
- Proficiency in writing JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Knowledge of SQL and database concepts.
- A strong desire to lead impactful engineering initiatives.
