Role Overview
As a Staff Engineer – UX & Interaction Designer, you will play a crucial role in designing intuitive and engaging user interfaces for commercial software applications. You will translate task flows, user requirements, and usability research into high-fidelity UI designs, wireframes, and prototypes.
You will be part of SCIEX’s team at the Danaher India Development Centre (IDC), Bangalore, reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager. This is an on-site role with remote work flexibility.

Key Responsibilities
✔ User Experience & Interaction Design
- Translate task flows, usability results, and user needs into effective UI designs, storyboards, wireframes, and prototypes.
- Anticipate and prevent UX problems by identifying potential design challenges early.
- Ensure all designs align with product direction by collaborating with the UX Architect and UX team.
✔ Design Strategy & Implementation
- Define and refine UI specifications for product owners, UI developers, and verification specialists.
- Create UI elements that adhere to SCIEX's digital brand and interaction guidelines.
- Work closely with R&D teams to iterate and improve UI designs.
- Adapt to shifting project scopes while clearly articulating design rationales to stakeholders.
✔ Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work across multiple time zones with North American R&D teams.
- Foster collaboration and communication across design, development, and product teams.
- Participate in virtual meetings and calls to align on global project goals.
Required Skills & Experience
???? Technical Expertise
✔ 8+ years of experience in commercial software UI design, wireframing, and user journeys.
✔ Strong understanding of desktop and web application UI patterns, including navigational constructs and information architecture.
✔ Proficiency in UI wireframing tools (e.g., Sketch, Figma).
✔ Knowledge of Windows Fluent Design System (material, animation, colors, shading, etc.).
✔ Ability to capture and document interaction behaviors for implementation teams.
???? Soft Skills
✔ Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
✔ Ability to manage time effectively while working with global stakeholders.
✔ Strong problem-solving and adaptability skills.
???? Preferred Experience (Bonus Skills)
✔ Experience in desktop-based instrument control software.
✔ Knowledge of XAML and WPF desktop products.
