We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our dynamic Flight Management System (FMS) team. As a member of our engineering group, you'll make significant contributions to the next generation of Flight Management Systems.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate various modules of the Flight Management System (FMS).
  • Engage in all stages of FMS development, ensuring high standards and compliance with aviation regulations.
  • Demonstrate technical proficiency in coding, software requirements, and following DO178B/C guidelines.
  • Perform detailed debugging, troubleshooting, and issue resolution using test rigs that simulate aircraft cockpits.
  • Conduct peer reviews and ensure quality deliverables before handing off to the Quality Assurance (QA) team for further testing.
  • Contribute to an Agile team, adhering to deadlines and project milestones.
  • Support Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCAs) and defect prevention initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, both locally and internationally, in a cooperative and effective manner.
  • Travel both locally and globally as required.
  • Develop and understand the complexities of FMS software systems, including the implementation of requirements, algorithms, and interface designs.

Requirements

Mandatory:

  • 10+ years of experience in software development and systems engineering, specifically in aviation embedded systems.
  • Strong experience in SDLC, OHNO concepts, and adherence to DO178B/C aviation standards.
  • Proficiency in C++/ADA95/2012 programming languages with hands-on experience in development, verification, and validation.
  • Strong background in Flight Management Systems (FMS).
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Doors, ClearCase, and ClearQuest.
  • A fast learner, adaptable to client needs and willing to upgrade skills accordingly.
  • Ability to work under pressure, with excellent problem-solving skills and strong communication abilities.
  • Proven track record in working collaboratively within international teams, including software development and product management.
  • Good understanding of aircraft performance, navigation databases, flight planning, and dispatch solutions, including EFB applications and ARINC standards.
  • Knowledge of airline flight operations and routing procedures.

Preferred:

  • Self-starter with a positive attitude and strong ethical standards.
  • Experience with debugging tools and performance evaluation on cockpit simulation platforms.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and validate FMS software according to detailed specifications.
  • Implement coding from software requirements in compliance with DO178B/C standards.
  • Collaborate with the team to demonstrate technical capabilities through programming tasks.
  • Perform code reviews, bug fixing, and address complex issues, leveraging simulation tools.
  • Ensure that quality benchmarks are met before handing the project to the QA team for further validation.
  • Participate in Agile methodology during the software development life cycle and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
