Job Summary:

Houston Talented Consultancy is looking for a dedicated and experienced Remote Payroll Specialist to join our team. In this remote role, you will be responsible for managing payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate pay distribution, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements. This position requires attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. You will play a critical role in supporting the HR and finance departments by overseeing all payroll-related tasks for our clients.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Management: Process weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly payrolls for employees, ensuring all calculations (salaries, overtime, deductions) are accurate and timely.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure payroll is processed in compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, including reporting and filing taxes, preparing W-2 forms, and other payroll tax filings.
  • Employee Records: Maintain accurate employee payroll records and ensure proper documentation for all payroll transactions.
  • Auditing and Reporting: Generate payroll reports, perform audits to ensure accuracy, and resolve discrepancies as they arise.
  • Benefits Administration: Oversee the integration of benefits data into payroll systems, including deductions for insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits.
  • Communication and Support: Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and benefits, providing timely resolution to issues or concerns.
  • System Maintenance: Use payroll software to ensure system updates and data integrity are maintained.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience in payroll management or a related field.
  • Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience using payroll software (e.g., ADP, QuickBooks, Paychex, etc.).
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in payroll processing and record-keeping.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations and compliance, including FLSA, IRS rules, and state/local tax laws.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify discrepancies and efficiently resolve payroll issues.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with employees and team members.
  • Confidentiality: Strong understanding of confidentiality and handling sensitive financial data.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar position, ideally in a remote or home-based setting.
  • Experience working with large-scale payroll systems and managing complex payroll functions for multiple employees.

Working Hours:
